_-| Neon NVG NT350 Differential Installation / Swap |-_

General how-to on installing a limited slip or otherwise stock differential into a NT350 transaxle.

Anytime you replace the differential, its bearing (which require you also replace the bearing cups), you need to set the preload on the bearing to insure longevity & trouble free operation.

The photos show the many steps involved. Trannies shown are from a 2001 HO 2.0L Magnum and 2003 PT cruiser, both shipped from the factory with a hydraulicly actuated clutch release bellhousing.

We will not be using a hydraulic bellhousing on either of them because they are destined for 95-99 neons which use steel cable style actuated clutch!

Please note the red fluid in the 2003 PT gear box even thought sticker on the side spec the synthetic mopar fluid (part no. ........65)!!!! I recommend using the older spec fluid and not the recent atf+4 that's been shipping from the factory. Appararently it was a cost cutting move with no benefit to the consumer. Older fluid works better!
